About Philippa

Philippa Toulson is a qualified teacher with over 23 years experience in primary, middle and secondary schools. She has also worked in a primary unit for children with complex needs and a residential school for pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Passionate about outdoor learning, conservation and the natural environment, Philippa is also a Forest School leader, a John Muir Award leader and a director of Folk South West, the folk arts development organisation for the South West of England.

She lives with her husband near Sherborne, Dorset, but, as the very proud owner of Pogles Wood, spends a lot of her time playing in her woodland.

About Nicola

Nicola Berry is a qualified primary school teacher with 17 years experience and has also worked in the heritage sector as an education officer.

Nicola has a particular interest in local history and geography and at school she was the subject leader for humanities and French. She also has experience delivering the John Muir Award and has a passion for outdoor learning.

Nicola lives near Sherborne, Dorset, with her husband, two teenage sons and two crazy Labradors. She is also the director of Kuloko Learning Ltd, an online directory connecting teachers with organisations, people and places that offer local learning opportunities.

About Pogles

Pogles Wood Explorers is an outdoor learning centre based in a lovely Dorset woodland with a rich and diverse ecology offering a wide range of activities for children and adults.
